The Board also agreed to receive annual proposals from Bank of Decatur and Eastover Bank for Sav– ings concerning the college's Shared Funds Account Banking System. Approval for awarding a total of 10 voice scholarships was also granted by the governing body. Previously, the college awarded only two voice scholarships per academic year. In the area of Student Services, Dr. Phil Sutphin, Dean of Students, reported on the college's receipt of a grant to implement the school's Ac– tion Plan for a drug and alcohol-free campus. Dr. Sutphin also presented graphs designating advance registra– tion totals and applications for admis– sion for the 1990 fall semester. In Old Business, Raymond McMullan, Director of Admissions, Records and Research, reported on the SACS Self-..c;;tudy and Dr. Smith gave details concerning plans for local county meetings or Board members in developing strategies for county millage requests. Concerning New Business, Dr. Smith reported on plans for the May 11, 1990CommencemenlProgram and reminded trustees of a reception scheduled in honor of :Mr. Newell and Mr. Shoemaker. Prior to the monthly meeting, several guests were recognized at a luncheon by Board Chairman Henry B. "Bubba" Hudspeth of Louisville and Dr. Smith.

John Adcock was selected Director of Vocational-Technical Instruction, succeeding the retiring O.L. Newell. Adcock, who will assume his new duties on July 1, 1990, has served as the college's Vocational-Technical Counselor since 1974. Newell is retir– ing following a 29-year career at the community college. Other personnel changes include the transfer of Jimmy Dempsey as Vocational-Technical Counselor for handicapped students to the Vocational-Technical Counselor posi– tion held by Mr. Adcock. Dempsey will also begin his new duties on July 1, 1990. The Board agreed to the release of a position opening an– nouncement concerning the vacant counselor's post. The Board also approved the employment of Joe B. (Brad) Brad– shaw, Jr. of Brandon as Assistant Football Coach, with other duties assigned, effective July 16, 1990. Bradshaw is currently serving as Assistant Football Coach , Science Teacher at Madison-Ridgeland Academy. 1'\ew teachers hired for the 1990-91 session include Mrs. Cher yl A. Dr. Tucker also presented informa– tion concerning class schedules for this summer's Kids' College and Junior High Enrichment Program and reported on the 1990 fall semester regular day class schedule. In the area of Budget and Finance, the Board approved recommenda– tions presented by Business Manager Harvey Trapp concerning maintain– ing the Capital Improvements Reserve Fund, and establishing a reserve fund for equipment, materials and supplies for the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Vocational-Technical Center which is operated by the college. Mr. Trapp also reported on the col– lege's group health insurance policy which is presently being reviewed through the committee process. Bids were approved for the follow– ing: • Lease of the eastern section of the college's farm property, $200.00/ year, Jack Coghlan; * Additional lights for the football stadium (Major Maintenance Plan), $1725.80, Robinson Electric of Meri– dian; • Relocating the faculty house presently located on the west side of Winston Hall, $4450.00, Malone House Moving of Carthage ; and • Weight equipment for athletic
