The Lady Warriors will sec action Friday night in the East Central Tournament ag ainst Jackson State (Tenn.) and Saturday ni ght will meet Mississippi Gulf Coast. The 1-1 Lady Trojans will host Hinds Monday night. Mississippi Delta took a 7-2 lead, only to have ECCC use two buckets by Lowe and one by Shea Oakley to go up 8-7. The game was tied 1 0-10 on a basket by the Lady \\'arnors' Brooke Smith at the 14:52mark of the ftrst h.. lf. The lead changed hands four more times before E.1st Central's Beverly Ware tied the game at 26-26 "ith 9:05 remaining in the first half. The Lady Trojans went up by nine points at 37-~8 with 6:48 remaining before Smith sank five out of stx free throws to pull ECCC within two at 37-35. A three-point play by Lowe gave the Lady War– riors a lead of 40-39 which they stretched to 48-43 at the break. "I called a time out and had a talk with the team," ECCC coach Sammy Pace said. After the break, the LadyWarriors continued their dominance when, with 16:00 left on the clock, they had a 10-poim lead of 58-48. With less than 13 minutes remaining, ECCC was up by 15 when Lowe got a basket that put the score at 70-55. East Central wem ahead of the Lady Trojans by as many as 18 points before seu ling for the I 2-point victory. "We shot the ball well early in the game but ECCC's strength inside was the big difference," De– lta coach Buddy Walden said. "I'mproud of the way the girls played hard and didn't give up. "I would like to give credit to Delta," Pace said. "They have a good ballclub and will win quite a few ballgames in the future." Besides Lowe's 28 points, Carolyn Boa tman added 22 and Paula Nash and Smith each had 21 to lead the LadyWarriors to victory.
