Nominations being sought by ECCC

Nominations are currently being received for outstanding instructors, alumni and athletic hall of fame inductees at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Dr. Brad Tucker, dean of insLruction who also serves as an alumni association representative. Dr. Tucker said those chosen will be honored during the college's annual Homecoming celebration which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14. The college official said the deadline to receive nominations is Thursday, Aug. 10, 1989. Last year's award recipients included Dr. Verbie Ann Prevost, "Alumna of the Year;" Henry B. "Bubba" Hudspeth, "Alumus of the Year; " Dr. Richard Ethridge, "Outstanding Academic Instructor;" John Adcock, "Outstanding Vocational-Technical Instructor;" and Howard Sessums,

athletes will be honored this year as the alumni association voted to increase to three the number of persons selected for athletic hall of fame induction. He said alumni association officers for 1989 include Mrs. Gloria McRae, president; Earl Marshall, vice president; and Mrs. Lois Cooper secretary-treasurer. County representatives include Gary Adkins of Philadelphia; Paul Chamblee of Carthage; Richard Ballard of Louisville; Dan Harrison of Newton; and Skippy Lathem of Morton. Out-of-district representatives include Tom Burt of Pearl and James M. Vance of Meridian.
