Steve Gainey a 6'2" guard from Union, MS and Kelvin Young a 6'3" guard from Philadelphia, have pro– ven in early workouts their ability to bring the players together as a team. The freshman class will be large tn number and only time will tell as to the quality. Heading the class is 6'8'' forward/center Michael James from Gary, Ind. Bowen, with his style of an ag– gressive man to man defense, hopes his team will be competitive against a very competitive schedule. The schedule will include of course tough home and away games against the Southern Conference of the Mississippi Junior College Associa– tion. East Central's nonconference schedule includes tournaments at East Mississippi and Jones, plus a tournament hosted by ECCC.
