Another incoming player is 6- foot-1, 165-pound guard Travis Watkins of Lake High School. Watkins averaged 20.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 7.3 assists.

"We're looking at both of them as combo guards," Bowen said. " They can both play the number one or two positions. Bowen inked a pair of Louis– ville High School players in 6- foot-3, 190-pound Tyrone Bender and 6-foot-5, 190-pound Jason J ohnson. The biggest prize of the district signings may be 6-foot-5, 190- pound forward Tyrone Stowers of Scott Central High School. Stowers bas been selected for the Mississippi High School All-Star game th1s summer. Bowen is looking at Stowers as a small forward after he averaged 27 points and 15 rebounds as a senior. Also among the future War– riors is 6-foot-2 Randy Stokes of Car thage High School. He aver– aged 18.5 points and eight re– bounds and can play either of the guard positions or small for– ward, Bowen said. Bowen's lone out-of-stater thus far is 6-foot-5, 230-pound Matthew Maye, a 1986 graduate
