EDUCATION WORKSHOP AT ECCC ·A cooperative education workshop, co-sponsored by tbe Lauren Rogers Museum of Art and the Mississippi Department of Education Bureau of Instructional Services, was rt.>ccntly held on the East Central Community CoJJege campus in Decatur and conducted by museum execu– the director Mary Anne Pennington of Laurel. Pennington, shown above with coDege president Dr. Eddie f. Smith. said the purpose of the instructional management workshop \\as to train Mississippi fourth grade teachers in the classroom use of The Museum in the Schools Educatioll Program, which bas been apprO\·ed b.} the Mi sissippi Department of Education. She said the special program is designed to facilitate teacbin~ art concepts as an int£'gral part of the fourth grade curriculm, reinrorcing such basic skills as language arts, ocial c:tudies. math and science.
