game. A native of Decatur, Hunter attended school in Decatur and is a graduate of Newton County Agricultural High School and East Central Junior College. He received both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. . . He is a charter member of Hq. Btry. and Combat Train· ing, 3rd Sn. 114th F. A. of the Mississippi National Guard. He served as caretaker for this unit from 1935 until 1939 and served for five years in the United States Army, achieving the rank of master sargent. Hunter was principal of Monticello High School from 1946 until 1958. When active in school work, he was a member oflocal teachers' associations, MEA, NES, and Mississippi Guidance Association. He worked with Y.M.C.A. and Hi· Y while at Monticello. In 1958, he went to Copiah– Lincoln Junior College as registrar and counselor, becoming dean of instruction in 1964, a position he held until his retirement in 1979. Hunter is a member of the Red Red Rose organization for school administrators, Wesson Lions Club, American Legion, and Retired Teachers Association.
