. ' • r Guraedy's art works added to collection
Bruce Guraedy has had his name added to the Mississippi Artists Collection . Art instructor at East Cen– tral Junior College in Decatur, Mr. Guraedy was recently honored by the Missi~sippi Museum of Art when two of his paintings were selected for the collection. Mr. Guraedy was one of 28 artists chosen from more than 200 statewide to receive the honor. His paintings were pur– chased for the new Jackson of– fices of Peat, Marwick, Mit– chell and Company located in One Jackson Place. The ECJC instructor sent two painti~g~.l-~ water color entitled "DusK Departure" and a landscape oil painting entitled "Semi-Seurat". Mr. Guraedy, who has been an instructor at ECJC for 11 1 years, is teaching 121 students in nine different classes . Of the nine classes , six are daytime and three are night classes. Mr. Guraedy said he I usually averages about 100 students per semester. A 1968 graduate of l<""'orest Hill High School, he received a bachelor of arts in art with a minor in communications from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1973. He received a master's degree of art education from USM in 1976. He also received a graduate fellowship in art education from USM. Mr .
