Community Concerts officers· ... Nine Newton Countians, represen– ting the different geographical areas of the County, will serve the coming year as of– ficers for the Newton County Community Concerts Association. The officers, along with 70 other volunteers, met last week on the East Central Junior College campus, to plan strategy for the coming year and to discuss the current ticket sales campaign. The season's- first show, The Tennessee River Boys, is scheduled for November 19. The current officers are: from left to right; Mavis Taylor, publicity vice president ; Cholie May, past president; Sue Addy, treasurer; Bruce Peterson, concert co-chairman; Marie Spence, Secretary; Claudean Nester, ticket vice president; Billy McClendon, president– elect; Dr. Eddie Smith, president; and~Tom Carson, concert co-chairman.
