ECJC receives federal grants East Central Junior College received notifications this week of funding of competitive grants in Titles III and IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. According to Dr. Brad Tucker, improvement in Com– puter Science, Elec– tronics, and Basic per year. Denver Brackeen, Dean of Students and students who qualify for assistance. Brackeen also serves as supervisor of the financial aid activity under Title III.
Coodinator of Title IV, and l\frs. Lawrence Tingle, Director of Special Services, were also notified of a new three-year grant under Title IV totaling $55,142 for the first year. The main objective of special services is to provide tutorial services for
Speach; administrative improvement in l\fanagement Information Systems Development; and student service im– provement in financial aid. Dr. Tucker states that this is the third year of the five-year grant which has been projected to average about $125,000
Dr. Charles V. Wright, President of ECJC, states that receipt of these two grants during budget preparation time will help the College to maintain some vital services in a more austere budget, year.
