Brackeen Speaker At Veteran's Day Program

East Central Junior College was the setting of the annual Veteran's Day Program to honor previous participants of any war or skirmish in which the United States was involved . Dr. Eddie M. Smith, President of ECJC, welcomed vi sit ors and in– troduced the speaker and platform guests. The invocation was delivered by the Rev. Gus Merritt. Pastor of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur. ECJC's ROTC followed with the Presentation of Colors while East Central 's band played the national anthem. Special music was provided by the ECJC chorus under the direction of Charles Hinson. The featured speaker for the occasion was General Charlie Denver Brackeen (pictured) who is presently serving in the capacity of Assistant Adjutant General of the Mississippi National Guard . McMullan-Executive Vice President of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce; and W.H. Johnson-Director of the American Legion 5th District .
