With the win, Jones County improved to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the South division, while ECJC fell to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the loop. The Warriors were led by Gary Anderson with 16 p~nts as Joe McGowan followed ·with 11. Byrne Drummond and Arness Georgetown added nine point apiece, while Greg Wells hit eight. it kind of showed tonight in the first half," JCJC coach Marc Dukes said. "We were a little sluggish and missed a lot of shots we normally make, but we fi– nally got going in the second half and played better pressure de– fense and rebounded better." The Bobcats did come out and play a lot better overall and roared out in front 64-48 with 11: 58 left in the contest. JCJC eventually led by as much as 25 points, before going on for the lop-sfded win. "We made a couple of runs but never could keep the score down," Gressett said. "We kept it (the Bobcat lead) around six or eight points for a while, but they would always pull it back out. Then finally their depth and talent started to pay off." Depth was a major factor as Marc Dukes' played all 11 play– ers on his team and everyone of · them scored. But Dukes said there was a reason for using so many players. "Our bench has been good to us all year, but I probably substituted tonight more than I normally would because we are not in good game shape yet," Dukes said. "When you've been off for three weeks, you need depth. There is nobody ready to play 40 minutes and I know it's hard to get back in the swing of things." This was JCJC's first game since Dec . 11 . "I'm just glad to get this win under our ,belts, because a win was important" Dukes added.
