Central began to put a Warrior drive on the Bulldogs, but the threat ended when Gulf Coast's Donald McCorvey intercepted an Orlando Vaughn pass intended for Isaac Harris in the endzone. The third :quarter saw little action until the Bulldogs fumbled with 4:23 to go. EC recovered the ball and moved deep into Bulldog territory. ECJC's first opportunity to score arose when Kelvin Lyons intercepted a Gulf Coast pass on their own 33 yard line. The Warriors moved the ball to the 12 yard line before EC quarterback Rusty Davis was caught behind the line. This called for a 29 yard field goal attempt.
