The Warriors take over and a David Pleasant pass was intercepted by Bulldog Andrew Smith with 1:29 left in the ball game and on 1st play quarterback Wasden keeps for the 40 yard touchdown. East Central Junior College Warriors traveled to Goodman, Miss. Saturday night to play the Holmes Bulldogs and came away with a defeat of 29-8. The first score of the night came when the Holmes Bulldog fumble the ball on a 4th down punt and recovered the ball but a Warrior rush against the Bulldogs forced them into the end zone for a two point safety putting the Warriors on the score board. An intercepted pass by Warrior Randy Burkes from Bulldog Glenn Hobgold put the Warriors in Bulldog territory. Unable to move the ball, kicker Mike Hawkins kicked a 41 yard field goal ... With the 1st quarter ending Warriors 5 , Bulldogs 0. The final score of the night for the Warriors came with 6 5 2 left in the 2nd quarter when the Warriors drove the ball to the Bulldog 5 yard line and being held by the Holmes defense, Hawkins kicked his second field goal of the night, making the score EC 8, Bulldogs 0. The 1st score for the Bulldogs came in the second quarter when a 4th down punt by the Warriors was fumbled and was recovered on East Central 5 yard line. Two plays later Bulldog Paul Bennett goes over f;om the 1 yard line. A 2 point conversion failed and an off-side penality against the Warriors put kicker Mark Johnson attemptipg the extra uoint.
