After a mree-point shot by Gary Anderson brought the War- riors to within 35-27, Hinds got the next five points for a 40-27 lead and held a 11 point, 44-33 lead a t the intermission break. East Central came out ready to play in the second half and got the first four points and after a basket by Hinds, Hoskins got another three-pointer that cut the Eagles lead to 46-40. A three-point play by Anderson and a basket by Hoskins got East Central to within three, at 48-45. Hinds then went on a scoring spree that put them out front again 53-45. With half of the last half still left to play, Hinds held a nine point lead of 63-54 and later in- creased this to a 11 point, 65-54 advantage. After the Warriors closed the gap to 65-61, Hinds ran off the next five points that upped its lead to nine again. The Warriors stayed within striking range and late in the game Byrne Drummond hit a three-point shot that put East Central back in the game, down only 87-84. past Warrior3 for victory By Will Price The Meridian Star DECATUR - The Hinds Junior College Eagles came call- Ing on the Warriors of East Cen- bra1 Monday night and came away with a hard fought 90-85 victory. The win improved coach Bob Zarrison's Eagles to 5-8 and 2-4 in the South Division, while the Warriors, under coach Larry Gressett, dropped to 3-13and 1-6. The game stayed close until late in the first half before the Eagles began to pull away. Kelly then scored the next eight points that put the Eagles up by a score of 29-20. East Cen- tral still didn't fold and cut the margin to 29-24.
