DR. SMITH ATTENDS PRESIDENTS ACADEMY Dr. Eddie Smith, President of East Central Junior College, recently returned from the Presidents Academy in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Smith was one of three selected from Mississippi to participate. Dr. Barry Mellinger of Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College and Dr. Bill Scaggs of Meridian Junior College also participated. The Presidents Academy A is an intensive training conference for presidents of community and junior colleges in the United States. Membership and appointment are by invitation only after a special screening and review process by the Presidents Academy Selection Committee which meets each year dur- ing the annual meeting of @e American Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
