GaryMonow awarded ECJC scholarship Charles Gary Morrow, Jr. of Union, a 1983 graduate of Newton County Academy, has been awarded a full tuition scholarship at East Central Junior College. East Central makes this scholarship available to the valedictorian of each high school in the district or to the salutatorian if the valedictorian chooses not to attend ECJC. The scholar– ship would amount to $780.00 provided the student maintains a B average. At the Academy, Gary was President of the senior class, the Letterman's Club, and the Honor Society. He was a board member of the Pride Club, and was a member of the Library Club. Active in varsi– ty sports, he participated in football, basketball, baseball, and softball and received the Athletic Academic Aw~rd. Chosen as Mr. NCA his s¢ior year, he received the Bronze Medal-Spirit of America Day,

Good Citizenship Medal - Sons of American Revolution, and the Outstanding Student Award. Other honors includ– ed the Senior English, Business Law, and Social Studies awards. Gary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morrow of Union and plans to major in Forestry at East Central. -..t}--
