Townsend Signs Scholarship Sethia Townsend recently signed a basketball scholarship with the East Central Junior College Warriorettes. Townsend, a Senior at Lake High School, is the daughter of Pearlean Townsend Evans and R.ev. John T. Evans of Lawrence. She was named All-Cherokee Conference three years, Most Valuable Player in the Cherokee Conference two years, All-District Six BB three years, All-South Mississippi and All– State in 1983, Honorable Mention All-State, Most Valuable Player at Lake High School three years, and she will participate in the South All-Star game in July. Townsend averaged 14.5 points per game in her senior year, 8 assists and 9 rebounds. She is pictured above with Lake High School Coach Benny Kirkland (left) and ECJC Coach Lucille Wood (right) .
