DIANA LYONS Diana Lyons Named All

Capping off a successful season for the University of Southern Mississippi Lady Golden Eagle basketball team. junior center Diana Lyons of Philadelphia, has been named to the Associ- ation of Intercollegiate Athle- tics for Women All Region I11 basketball team. The six foot one inch Lyons had an outstanding 1977-78 season by averaging 18.9 points per game and pulling down 13.2 rebounds. Shewas a consistent performer during the year and had personal highs during the season with 36 points against Jackson State and 24 rebounds against Ole Miss. Designation to the team singles Lyons out as one of the top intercollegiate players in the nation. Lyons c a p e to USM from East Central Junior College where she 'was coached by Lucille Wood. "Diana didn't get much recognition this year," says Coach Kay James, "but she was consistently one of our best wrforrners all SPR*\* lone."
