CCJC Loses Five, But Defeats JCJC

Terry Burns, Jim Kennamer, Hornesbuger and Steve Thomas nF Union had two hits each. Burns and Kennamer scored two runs. Hornes buger scored one run. In the second game Jdv Jones ot Forest was the losing prtche- Moore, Kennamer, Wall, and John Barham of Philadelphia had two hits, Moore and Kennamer scored tao runs. Barham, Wall and Tripietf scored one run. Kennamer h ~ t hl? third homer of the year. East Central Defeated In The East Central Junior College tennis team lost to Holmes Junior College on April 6, 3-5. In men's A singles, Scott Quisenberry of Entcrprjse, AI, was defeated 6-0, 6-0. In the B men's singles, Bob Posey of Union was defeated 5 - 7 , 6-1 6-3. Cheryl Comans of Decatur won the A women's singles 7-6, 6-1, 6-3. Vanessa McKinney of Carthage won the B women's singlea 6-4, 6-3. Joe Douglas of Newnan, CA and George Adams of Newton won the r3 men's doubles 7-6, 6-3. East Central won the B men's doubles by forfeit and lost the B women's doubles by forfeit. Sonjia Herrington ~f Recatsc arid Margo Marveggio of Forest lost t h e B women's doubles 6-0, 6-1.

The East Central Jr. College baseball team traveled to Perkinston on April 2, where Gulf Coast Jr. College defeated East Central 11-1in the first game and 10-0 in the second. Jim Kennamer of New Hope, Ala. and Rickey Hornesbuger of Noxapa- ter were the losing pitchers. East Central hosted Jones Jr. College on April 3. Jones defeated East Central 13-1 in the first game and 9-1 in the second. Jay Jones of Forest took the lost in the first game and Rickry Hornesbuger of Noxapater in the second. East Central hosted Pearl River Jr. College on April 7. East Central won 2-1 in the first game and 10-0 in the second. Rickey Hornesbuger was winning pitcher. Ray scott took the IOSS. .2 winning triple. Bobby Butler of Philadelphia and Kent Moore of Waynesboro had one hit each. Jones and Butler scored for East Central. In the second game Jim Kennamer pitched a no hitter. He struck out nine batters. David Oakes took the loss for Pearl River. Nelson Triplett of Louisville had three hits. Jones, Kennamer, Terry Burns of Jonesboro, Ga., Ricky ch*esney of Little Rock, David Gressett of Chunky and Randall Lee of Little Rock had two hits each. Kennamer hit a three-run home$. Jones scored three runs, Kennamgr and Lee scored two runs; Triplett, Gressett and Todd Wall of Decatur scored one run each. East Central hosted East Missis- in eight innings.
