Host EC JC In Kosciusko r A meeting between 2 of tl states' Junior College Basketbi squads will highlight a two-day I Polish celebration in Kosciusko this weekend. Holmes Junior college, at the top of the ratings in both men's and women's play for the north half of the state, will host East Central Junior College, whose women are in the running for the South Division Championship. The women's game gets unde way at 6:30 p.m., Saturday in tl Attala County Coliseum Kosciusko. Men take the court at 8:30. Admission is $2.00 for adults atlu $1.00 for students. The game will be a highlight of a two-day celebration in Kosciusko designed to show support for the people of Poland. Proceeds from the game and other fund raising activities, as well as collections taken at Sunday night worship services, will go for relief of the Polish people. Governor William Winter has given his endorsement of the program and has asked all Mississippians to join in the effort. In play through the past weekend, Holmes' men were sporting a record of fifteen wins and two losses in the North Juniuor College Division. The H.J.C. women were 13-2 and also in the running for the North State title. East Central's women were 8-4 in overall state play and undefeated in South Division Competition. The E . c . J . c . !~~~ were holding a season record of three wins and ten losses. In addition to the Junior College contest, the half time exhibition will be conducted between teams from a Kosciusko pee-wee league. Spectators will be allowed to participate in a free throw shooting contest. Competition will be broken down into two age grouDs for both men and women.
