ECJC Splits With Hinds DECATUR - East Central and Hinds Junior College splil ~asketball games here Monday night. The Lady Warriors scored an 84-76 win before the Hinds Eagle made off with an 82-69 decision in the men's game. Although Hinds led 44-43 at the half, the Lady Warriors quick1 pulled away after intermission. Jo Ann Earnest hit for 26 point to pace the EC women and Sheila Welch added 20 and Stephani Townsend 16. Phyllis Rhodes led Hinds with 20 and Velma Burge hit for 18 The ECJC women are now 10-7 overall and 7-3 in SouthDivisio results. Despite East Central placing four players in double figure! Hinds had too much overall firepower for the Warriors. Mark Coleman scored 28 points and Lonnie Nash 27 for Hinds and Calvin Terrell added 10. Kenneth Gilliland pumped in 19 points and hauled.down 16 re- bounds for East Central while Eddie Griffin led theWarriors with 21 points, Robert Gilliland added 17 and Mike Shirley 10. The Warrios dropped to 3-14 overall and 1-9 in South results. East Central will host Utica here Thursday a t 6:30 p.m. for its next action.
