ECJC Begins Fall Terlll East Central Junior College opened its doors for the fall session on Monday, August 20, 1979 when faculty, staff, and students assembled for the 1979-80 fall semester. Students, discussed general information such as handbooks, parking rules and regulations, financial aid and other ac– tivities. He was assisted by the counselors and other ad– ministrative officials.

Dr. Charles V. Wright, President of East Central Junior College, officially welcomed all the students in a general session on Monday afternoon. He encouraged each student to take part in the many opportunities that this year will bring. The Warrior Band under the direction of Mr. James Dykes and the Cheerleaders were on hand to greet the students. The football team and SBA officers were introduced at this time. Registrar Frank Rives organized and supervised the registration process · beginning with the returning students. All faculty participated in the class scheduling. Business Manager, · Pery Winegarden explained fiscal policies of the college and assisted students in planning to meet financial obligations . According to Registrar Frank Rives enrollment was up over last year with ap– proximately 800 students registering including on and off campus students and evening students.
