-Three Winston Countians Get Honor Scholarships

Three students , represent– ing high schools in Winston County, will attend East Cen– tral Junior College at Decatur this fall on academic achieve– ment scholarships. These scholarships are a- warded to students wishing to attend ECJC and who have maintained the highest aca– demic average for his or her school Scholarship winners 1ru111 Winston County are Sylvia Janice Daws of Noxapater, Ella Carol Mills of Louis– ville, and Harold Lee Adcock of Winston Academy. Sylvia Janice is the daugh– ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Daws. She resides with her grandmother, Mrs . W. I. Burrage, on Route 1, Noxa- . pater. Sylvia Janice served as editor of the school year– book, treasurer of the junior class , senior class vice pres– ident, historian of F}{A, and vice president of the Beta Club. She was a member of Y-Teens, played basketball , and was listed in the "Who's Who" edition. She plans to major in liberal arts. r.:ua Carol is the daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs . Archie Lee Mills of Route 6, Louis– ville. She is undecided as to her college major, although she has maintained an "A" average throughout high school. Ella Carol partici– pated in track and basketball, was a member of the annual staff, Beta and 4-H clubs , Y- Teens, ...Spanish, Math, and FHA Clubs. She was the recipient of the Spanish Award. Harold Lee is the son of Mr. and Mrs . Clarence C. Adcock, jr., of 118 Cox St~eet,
