Three Students Get Scholarships
Three students, repres– enting high schools in Neshoba County, will attend East Central Junior College at Decatur this fall on Aca– demic Achievement Scholar– ships . These scholarships are awarded to students wishing to attend ECJC and who have maintained the highest son of Mr. and Mrs . Ross E. McDonald of Rt . 2, Phila– delphia. Graduating Valedic– torian of his class, Mc– Donald was also president of the student body and was listed in "Who 's Who In American High Schools" . Vicky Marshall is the daughter of Ray Marshall of Rt . 2, Philadelphia. She academic average for his or her school. plans to study data pro– cessing at East Central. A participant in track and basketball, she was a cheerleader and served as captain of the basketball team. Miss Marshall was chosen by her schoolmates as honor student ; Most Versatile, Best Girl Athlete, a beauty, and Best Offensive Player. Fannie Mae stephens is the daughter of Mrs. Zulu Chitto of Rt. 2, Walnut Grove. Honors she received at Choctaw Central include the General Math award, Leadership Award, Missis– sippi History and Civics Award, and she maintained the highest scholastic average in her dorm . She served as secretary-treasurer of the junior and senior clas– ses, yearbook business manager, Church clerk, Ac- · teen president, and 4-H secretary. She was also a member ofthe National Honor Society and the student Coun– cil.
