Morton Girl Given Scholarship Miss Glenda Watson of Morton has been awarded a First Mississippi National Bank Scholarship by the University of Southern Mississippi for the 1972-73 session.

This scholarship was derived from funds contributed to the Southern Foundation by alumni . and friends of the University. I The 19-year-old coed is a junior majoring in Com– munications. She is a 1972 /graduate of East Central Junior College where she was named to the Hall of Fame. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Watson of Morton. Attention was focused on Miss Watson in 1970 when she entered college at ECJC where her mother .was a student with the first mother-daughter combo. Her mother, Mrs. Billie Watson is currently a semor at Mississippi College. -

GLENDA WATSON Glenda Watson Is Named To Hall Of Fame Glenda Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Watson of Morton, has been named to the Hall of Fame at East Central Junior College. Inclusion in the Hall of Fame is the highest honor an East Central student can attain. Members of the Hall of Fame are chosen by a special faculty I committee from recom– mendations by students a~d faculty. Members must I possess at least a 3.0 average, I have high character and ideals and must be an active par– ticipant in campus activities. Miss Watson has maintained a 3.01 grade point average for her three semesters at ECJC. She is a member of the paper staff, Phi Theta Kappa, honor society; tennis team and ECJC players. Glenda is president of intramurals and has been a team captain. She was a recipient of the Sportsmanship Award in intramurals and extramurals. Miss Watson has taken part in the musical, religious em– phasis programs, art exhibits, May Day activities and the 1971 beauty pageant. Glenda is house chairman of the Women's Council, vice president of the French Club and co-chairman Phi Theta Kappa bake sale committee. Miss Watson's picture will hang in the entrance to Huff Auditorium. ===°===
