771 Students Enrolled At East Central

A total enrollment of 771 students have begun class work at East Central Junior College, Decatur, it was an– nounced by the registrar Mr Frank Rives. Patricia Johnson and Martha Pace rated a 4.0 average and are included on the President's List for the first eight weeks. Dean's List ( 3.5 or above) includes Charles Walker Freddie Bagley, Clark Measels. Attaining honorable mention (3.0 or above) are Charles Crenshaw, Lynn Gardner Bobbie Gaile Knight, Dian~ Logan, Joe Madden, Martha Norton, Carol Sessums Marshall Beard, Ralph Brown'. Mary Jane Carpenter, Diane Crapps, Johnny Emmons H~rold Hollingsworth, Bett; Lmk, James May, Melinda Nanney, Jeff Shaw and Glenda Watson. Jimmy Madden made a 4.0 average in the Vocational Department. THE NEW AND THE OLD-Miss Denise Fulton of Philadelphia [right] presents a ·bouquet of Dowers to newly crowned "Miss East Central Junior College", Kathy Polk of Starkville. Kathy is the daughter of Sgt. and Mrs. Harry Polk of Starkville. A Sophol1)ore at East Central, Miss Polk is the only female vocalist in the popular rock group "Monorail." The recipient of a $500 scholarship to the college of her choice, Miss Polk will represent East Central at the "Miss Mississip~i" Pageant at Vicksburg later in the year before, entermg Mississippi State University in the fall. _J~~--
