TO ALL-STATE BAND - – East Central Junior College Band Director Gilbert Sommers (center) discusses con– cert selections with the eight members of his band who were selected to the Mis– sissippi Junior College All-State Band. Tryouts for the state band were held on the ECJC campus at Decatur in late January. A total number of 69 students from public junior colleges across the state were chosen ,. by audition, with eight places ,won by East Central students. The group will perform Monday night, March 18

at the Jackson Mu11icipal Auditorium.
