ECJC Scholarships Awarded To Seven Students In Scott

Michael Wooten and Willie Lewis Montgomery: Sebastopol - Denise Gail Shaw. Rory Lee Warren is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Warren of Rt. 2, Box 40, Lake. He plans to major in Nuclear Engineering, and has articles published in "Pathways" Literary Magazine. His honors include being named to Out– standing American High School Students, the Hall of Fame, and the honor roll. He was a member of the Beta Club, Latin Club, Track Team and served as basketball manager. Lula Mae Blakley is the daughter of Mrs. Emma L. Rush of 818 South West Street, Forest. She maintained a high B average at Forest High and was a member of the Track team and honor roll list. She plans to major in Intensive Business while at East Central. Julie Carleen Latham is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Latham, Jr. of Forkville. She was graduated as Valedic– torian at Morton Attendance Center where she was president of the Library Club, and received the Science Award, Library Award, , Athletic Award for being the Best Rebounder, Danforth Award, and an award for perfect attendance. She was a member of the basketball team and was named to the Coaches All-Star team. Deborah Diane Brittain is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnie Brittain of Route 4, Forest. While at Scott· Academy, she maintained a 95.64 average and was named Val~ctorian of her class. These scholarships are awarded to a white and black I student from each high school in the East Central district who wishes to attend ECJC and who has maintained the highest academic average for his or her school.
