1972-1977

Twenty-two students will be receiving scholarships for their freshman year during the 1980-81 academic school year. Those students receiving scholarships from Neshoba County include Early Clemons, Jr., Lisa Dione Myatt, and Terry Tubby. Clemons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Early Clemons Sr. of Philadelphia is a graduate of Neshoba Central High School. While attending NCHS he was a member of the FFA Club in which he served as treasurer and was a member of the football team. Miss Myatt, daughter of Mr. Marshall Felton Myatt of Philadelphia, is also a graduate of Neshoba Central High School. She was a member of the Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Quill and Scroll and served as editor of the school annual. She also served as valedic– torian of her senior class. Tubby of Philadelphia is a graduate of Choctaw Central High School. While attending CCHS he was a member of the basket– ball team, track team, and football team. He was also a member of the "C" Club and received awards in art, English and typing.

These tuition scholarships were awarded to the black and white student in each high school in the five-county district with the highest grade point average planning on at– tending East Central Junior College.
