Marshalls Pledge $10,000 To ECJC
Dr. Charles Wright. president of East Central Jr. College. announced rece nt Iv that the Board of Trustees at the last board meeting accepted a $10.000 pl edge to East Central's Developme nt Foundation from Earl ·and Bobbie Marshall of Clinton. The Marshalls have specified that SO percent of this gift be spent clirectl~' on th e football program at East Central and the remaining SO percent be used by the Development Foundation in whatever way deemed most be neficial to East Central. Bobbie Marshall is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Jones Sr. of Forest. She attended East Central in 19SS. 'S6. and 'S7 . At East Central. she was a class officer. cheerleader for two ~'ears. Homecoming Maid. and in 19S6 she was H~mecoming Queen. After graduating from East Central. she attended the University of Southern Mississippi. She rece ived a BS in Education from Southern in 1962. While at Southern. she was a member of the · Dixie Darlings drill team and a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. In 1973. she received a Master ' s Degree in Education from Mississippi College . She is currenly emploved as assistant principal of Northsid e Elementary School in Clinton . Earl Marshall is the son of Mrs. Annie P. Marshall. formerly of Philadelphia now living in Green– ville. and the late A.L. Marshall. He attended East Central in 19S4. 'SS. and until Janu ary. 1956. on a football scholarship . He was president of the Sophomore Class and lettered in football two years . He received a football scholarship to the Univer– sitv of Southern in Januarv . 19S6. While at Southern. he played in the Tangerine Bown in Orlando. Fla. He ·received a BS in Phvsical Educatio~ . j in 1958. · After serving in the US Army in Frankfurt. Germany for two years. he coached football at Crystal Springs. Tylertown and Baker. La. He was appointed assistant director of the Govern~rs Highway Safety Program by Gov. John Bell Williams in 1968. "He joined Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in 1973 as a sales representatives .. He has
received the National Qualitv A" arc! and the National Sales Achievement Award and has qu alifi ed for th e Million Dollar Round Tabl e . Ji/ 1978. he qualified for Lincoln National 's prestigious 1 percent Club . finishin g ninth out of approximatelv 4.000 agents in production. He served as president of the Univ e rsit v ot· Southern Mississippi· Alumni Asso– ciation in 1980 and is currentl v serving on the Board of Directors of the Jackson Association of Life Underwrit ers.
