Excitement continues to build as twenty& East Central students, many for the first time, participate in rehearsals for the upcoming presentation of the annual Dinner Theater. According to Bruce Peter- son, Director, the plays will be staged on Tuesday, No- vember 15 and Wednesday, November 16. A buffet meal will be sewed in the school cafeteria at 7:00, during which the Collegians, a campus sinking group, and the Fashion Squad will enter- tab. Also, a collection of art Following the buffet, four one-act plays including, in order of appearance, "Craw- ling Arnold, " "Everybody's Secret," "Impromptu," and I "And the Villain Still Pur-- sued Her," will be presented at 8:W. Peterson emphasized that the four one-act plays were selected rather than one three-act play because more people could be invol- ved in the production. He *also pointed out that this is the first year the speech department has tried the one-act plays and the novelty of the idea is a challenge. Past dinner theaters have included "Picnic," "Blithe Spirit," "The Savage Dilem- na," and "The Male Ani- mal." Nine Newton county stu- dents will be appearing in the theatre presentations. "Crawling Arnold" deals with an unusual treatment of how a person is affected by his society and family life. Carol McFarland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph of Cdnehatta, will be performing the role of "Millie", the maid. While she attended Decatur High school. Carol, was a member of the Warrior Band, the Beta Club, and sewed as Student Council Representa- I tive. A Freshman majoring in Liberal Arts, she serves on the Annual Staff and is a member of the Wesley Foun- .I work produced by campus art majors will be on display.

Cast as the "Countess," a woman of mystery, will be Sue Savell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Savell of Union. A graduate of Union High School, Sue was listed in Who's Who Among High School Students, was a mem- ber of various clubs, won the Communications Award, and was school and county win- ner in the Alcohol Essay Contest. A Sophomore majoring in Broadcast Jour- nalism, she is Executive Editor of the Tom-Tom, serves as Phi Theta Kappa Secretary, is listed in Who's Who in American Junior Colleges and last year re- ceived the Editorial Award at the Mississippi Junior Col- lege Press Convention. "Impromptu" is a provo- cative treatment of the popu- lar theme: How much illusion does a person need to live a balanced life? " Winifred," a character actress, is por- trayed by Regina Gibbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidngy L. Gibbs, Jr., of Newton. While attending Newton High School, Regina served as FHA Resident, was a member of the Tiger Roam newspaper staff and received the Home Economic Award. A sophomore speech education major, she is Pres- ident of the E.C.J.C. Play- ers, President of the ROTC Cadet Association and per- formed in last year's d i n e r theater play "Blithe Spirit." The fourth play to be presented will be "And the Villain Still Pursued Her," an old fashioned melodrama dealing with a hero, heroine, and a villain. Theresa Wal- ton will be cast as "Lena Handout," John Handout's wife. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Walton of Union.
