Queen Shannon Cleveland of Union will reign over homecoming festivities at East Central Junior College in Decatur on October 8. Activities will begin a t 3 o'clock with ,a reception honoring the 1977 Alumnus of the Year, Jesse M. Everett of Decatur. At 4 o'clock th$ Homecoming Parade, featuring floats, bands, and beauties will be held in downtown Decatur. Activities specifically for alumni will begin at 5 o'clock with an alumni business meeting in the Fine Arts Building. An Alumni Banquet will follow a t 6 o'clock in the East Central Cafeteria. The East Central Warriors will host the Hinds Junior CollegeEagles at 7 :30. The homecoming court will be presented and the queen will be

crowned a t the halftime show a t Warrior Field. This year's queen Shannon Cleveland, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Cleveland. She is active in all facets of college life, serving as head cheerleader and secretary of the SEA and participating in intramurals. Last year Shannon was a beauty in the ECJC Who's Who. Maid of honor is Lorene Russell, daughter of yrs. Mary Ellene Russell of Hillsboro. Miss Russell was a school beauty at East Central last year and is active in intramural basketball. Sophomore maids a r e Jessica Harpole, daughter of Mr. a d Mrs. Boots Harpole of Philadelphia; Shelia Pryor, daughter of Mrs. Waldo Pryor of Forest, and Blanche Harrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Harrell of

Carthage. Representing the freshman class as homecoming maids are Carla Hailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Johnson of M o d w Julie Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Wright of Louisville, and Lisa Haralson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bily Haralson of Conehatta. ' Raymond McMullan, faculty chairman of the hamecoming ac- tivities, is planning for a big day for both alumni and ECJC students. Mc- Mullan says, "It is my hope that this years homecoming will be a successfuI one, and with the support of alumni, friends of the college, and our students, I am sure it can be."
