~t East Central The committee has been named and extensive work has begun in preparation for the major 50th an- niversary celebration of East Central's year of emphasis - Homecoming. The committee chaired by Tommy Thrash, Social Studicq professor, announces that the first class will be the honored a l m and special guests of the college on October 7.

Homecoming committee include Dr. ShelbyHarris, Harvey Trapp, and John Adcock, Parade; Mrs. Lois McMulland and Bruce Peterson, Registration; Mrs. Ann Burkes, Mrs. Gail Wood, Miss Gloria Johnson, Miss LucilleWood, and Mr. Bruce Guraedy, Reception; Mrs. Sarah Heard, and Mr. Rudolph Mayes, Decoration; Mrs. Alice Pouncey, Mrs. Elizabeth Pitts, and Mr. James Dykes, Court and Halftime; Mr. Joe Clark, Mrs. Gipson, and Mrs. Kilpartick, Campus Decorations; Alumni Association and Denver Brackeen, Alumni Banquet; and Mrs. Larla Jordan, Publicity. Students assisting in the preparations include: Mickey Vance and Debbie Livingston assisting Homecoming chairman; SEA Officers assisting in Registration; Carla Massey assisting in Reception; and PHI THETA KAPPA assisting in the Decoration of the Dining Hall.

Sixteen of the twenty-twomembers of the 1928-29 students are still living and are being invited to participate in the festivities of Homecoming. They are: Vera Adarns (Mrs. H. C. Goodwin), Lois Cook (Mrs. Othel Goodwin), Francis Harris (Mrs. J. B. Smith), Eunice May (Mrs. Ted Smith), Ola May, Lorene Rivers (Mrs. J . A. Farr), Maddine Wroten (Mrs. Gilbert Lyles), S. I,. Busby, J. D. Harris, Spurgeon Lewis, Lloyd Majure, J. P. Moore, Ted Smith, Jimmy Spivey, Albert Vance, and Oieta Stamper. Six members are deceased. They are: Louie Gordan, Morris Wall, Selby May, Lucille McMullan, Aubrey Vaughn, and Elizabeth Ward (Mrs. Pat Ladner). Francis Harris, now Mrs. J. B. Smith of Hickory, recalls that the small group was very close. They had attended high school in the same facilities the previous year. College to them was very much like another year of high school: She recalled that there were only two teachers and that classes met everyday. Mr. Robert Marshall taught Ma'hmatics and Science and Mrs;, Stella Newsome taught English, Spanish, and History. All students met, all the classes in the basement of a dormitory.
