1953 Howard Sessums, Harperville, and Denver Brackeen, Hit~kory were chosen Junior College All-Americans . - ..... }.~~· During the National Basketball Tournament at Hutchinson, Kansas, Denver Brackeen scored 134 points in the four games played by East Central and set a new tournament scoring record . He also set an individual rec·ord in the number of points scored by any player during a game which was 53 points out of which 24 were field goals, also a record. He was chosen National Junior Col– lege Player of the Year. -
