FOREST, MISSISSIPPI Warriors Defeated For Title

Pearl River Junior College scored all of its '!:/ points in the first quarter Friday night to down the East Central Junior College Warriors 27-8, and win the Mississippi Junior College champsionship. A fumble recovery on the Pearl River 20 yard line set up the only touchdown for East Central. Quarterback Freddy Bagley passed 12 yards to Thomas Billups and then eight yards for the score to Rex Webb. Bagley passed to ·Billups for the two point conversion. East Central finished 7-3 overall and ~1 in the north division, the same as East Mississippi, but ECJC by a toss of the coin won the right to enter the playoff. Pearl River finished its regular season at 8-2. Pearl River's Newton Blount intercepted a Bagley pass at the East Central 25 and returned it to the 16 to set up a 12-yard quarterback sneak by PRJC's Dennis Wilson one minute deep in the game. Glennis Penton kicked the first of three successful kicks in four attempts to give the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. With 11 :20 to go in the quarter, Wildcat fullback Kim Sones skirted left end on a pitch-out and str.eaked 40 yards for a TD and a f4-0 Pearl River lead. · A 32-yard pass from Wilson to wingback Lynn Patrick gave PR a 2
