New Teachers Join ECJC F~eulty Staff I Three new faculty members have/ joined the staff of East Centfa! Junior College tor the fall i term, according to Dr. Chaf.les v. Wright, president. J?ining the faculty for the conj.ing term are Mrs. Lois Mc– Mullan, Gilbert Sommers and James W. Nicholson. Mrs. McMullan, who comes to the college from Decatur High School, will teach in the field of mathematics. She is the wife of academic counselor Raymond McMullan, and they have two children, Mike and Sherrie. Mrs. McMullan re– ceived her B, s. degree from the University of SouthernMis– sissippi. Sommers will assume the duties of band director and will teach music. He received his bachelors and masters of music education from Northeast Louisiana State College inMon– roe and has taught at Kentwood High School, Kentwood, La., and Gillianao Junior High School, Galliano, La. Sommers has completed further work at the University of Southern Mis– sissippi. - NicholsOft Peeehe4i ·hm·Aw14 1 , from Northeast Mississippi Ju– nior College, his B. S. from Mississippi State University and his M. Ed, from Missis– sippi State University (N, S. F. Summer ~stitute). He will be working in the science field and will be an instructor in ch'emistry. He is married to the former Mary Jane Mc– Gee and they have two chil- dren.
He complements the present four-member staff and became the second assistant adminis– trator assigned to the program. The program, which is head– quartered in Newton, Missis– sippi, was incepted in June, 1968 and serves Clarke, Jas– per, Kemper, Leake, Lauder– dale, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Smith Counties. Mr. Richardson is a native of the district, having gradua– ted from high school atMorton, and having begun his college education at East Central Mis– sissippi Junior College at De– catur. After receiving a B.5 degree in political science from Ouachita Baptist University at Arkadelphia, Arkansas, he cul– minated his education at the University ofMississippi where he received a Juris Doctor in 1968. Mr. Richardson brings a di– versity of work experience to his new !JOSition. Prior to his receiving a law degree, he was employed as a teacher and coach in the Florida School System for two years. Immediately upon graduation from law school, he served for one year as a law c 1 erk for Associate Justice Stokes V. Robertson, Supreme Court of Mississippi. For the last few months, Mr. Richard– son has been pursuing his legal career in Clarksdale. Mr. Richardson's capabili– ties and past accomplishments indicate that he will be a val– uable asset to the ECEDD staff and will be able to assist in various c;.omponents of the pro– gram. : ~~~~~~~~~
WILLIAM RICHARDSON Richardson Is Now On EC Staff As an administrative a6sis– tant with duties particularly relevant to the district's law enforcement program, William Richardson, Jr., a former Clarksdale attorney, became the newest addition to the pro– fessional staff of the East Cen– tral Economic Development District, effective October 6, 1969.
