Africa Chester M. Wells of Starkville hunted for almost two years in Africa. He bagged over 3,000 trophies– all without firing a shot. He hunted with a 35mm camera. The photographs on these pages are only a smattering of the thousands of beautiful color slides he has in his prized collection. Head of the MAFES Editorial Department, came to Mississippi State University in 1939 as a transfer student
from East Central Junior College. Following a tour in. the Air Force, he came back to State
and was graduated in 1948. He joined the staff in 1949. Since that time he has received his Master's degree from State and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois. He is a professor of agricultural econqmics. Wells went to Africa in June, 1967, as an economic consultant to the Kenya Ministry. He was headquartered in Nairobi.
