Easom Receives Doctor's Degree

Professor of English at State Technical Institute and taught Technical Writing . In 1981 he joined the Federal Express Cor– poration in Memphis as a Senior Technical writer . Theie he wrote and produced videotap·es used in employee training, policy and procedure manuals, training manuals and company brochures. In 1976 he was named to Outstanding Young Men o f America. In his spare time Easom works as a freelance com- munication consultant to business, industry, and educational institutions. He has published numerous articles, short stories and poems in regional and national publications.

Rodger D. Easom, son of Mr . and Mrs. Carl Easom of Conehatta, received his Doctor of Education degree at Memphis State University December 18. Easom attended Conehatta ---imct-Becatur - hfgh school , graudating at Decatur in 1961 as valedictorian of the class. He graduated from East Central Junior College in 1963 and was n~amed to the College Hall of Fame. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B. A. Degree in English and earned 'fin M.A. in English from Mempl)is State University in 1970. He taught English in the Memphis City School svstem. ~erved as
