Spring Musical ·Cast Selected At E. C. J. C.

Lynda Harvey of Forest will serve as assistant director of the musical. Chorus members were chosen on Jan. 14. They are: Libby Appleby of Louisville; Mike Childress of Louisville, Charles Comans of Newton, Cheryl Comans of Decatur, Cheryl Gibbon of Hickory, Craig Gordon of Union,·Mark Gunn of Forest, Tamara Howell of Louisville (who will also play the Nightengale), Rose McGee of Lake, Fran Miley of Louisville (who in ad– dition will portray Princess Number 12), Sherri Miley of Morton, Gary Rogers of Louisville, .Tammy Taylor of Morton, and Melissa Thomp– son of Morton. Bob Heritage, Instructor of Vocal Music at ECJC is in charge of all choral and vocal instruction for the musical. Auditions were held on Jan. 17 for the dancers. Selected were : Terry Adams of Noxapater, Cindy Beatty of Newton,. Shelia Breedlove of Union, Mike Childress of Louisville, Charles Comans of Newton, Jan Crenshaw of Newton, Keith Gaines of Newton, Stephanie Hodges of Walnut Grove, Anthoney Johnson of Sebastopol, Tony Kirkland of Philadelphia, Ricky Luke of Noxapater, Rose McGee of Lake, Evelyn Murrell of Forest, and Debbie Wroten of Decatur. Ovid Vickers, instructor of English at ECJC is the choreographer for all dance sequences. The orchestra is made of select m~mbers .of the East Central Junior College War– rior Band. Band director James Dykes is conductor for the orchestra and Marian Thornton, chairperson of the Fine Arts Division is the pianist. Tickets sales will begin on Feb. 13. Tickets can be pur– chased beginning the 13th by calling 635-3246 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

East Central Junior College's production of Once Upon AMattress will be stag– ed Feb. 25-March 1 in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the ECJC campus. Bruce Petterson is the direc– tor of this 11th annual produc– tion, based on the story "The Princess and the Pea." Cur– tain time will be 7:30 p.m. each night. . The principal cast members were chosen from auditions held on Jan. 8. Evelyn Pierce of Newton will have the leading role of Princess Win– nefred. Other cast members include: Randy Adair of Union as Prince Dauntless; Susan Mihalic of Union as Queen Ag– gravain; Ken Hackman of Decatur as King Sextimus; Leisa Richardson of Union as Lady Larken; Jamie Satcher of Union as Sir Harry; Todd _Rogers of Harperville as the Minstrel; Scott Long of Philadelphia as the Jester; and Clayton Whitehead of Newton as the Wizard;
