GLENDA JONES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J, T. Jones of .Morton, was selected to be in the May Day Court at East Central Junior College. She was on the honor roll for the first semester and graduates in May in Home Economics. She plans to en– roll at the University of Southern Mis s i s s i pp i in September.
MISS KATHA KENNEDY Highest Drama IAward Goes To Katha Kennedy DECATUR - East Central Junior College has presented Miss Katha Kennedy with the year's Best Actress Award, the highest award of the Speech and Drama Department, it has been announced. Miss Kennedy played leading roles in two ECJC Drama pro– ductions-"Catch Me If You 'Can" · and "Goodbye My Fancy. " She was student direc– tor of the spring, 1970, produc– tion of "Oklahoma." She has received her Asso– ciate Arts degree in business education at ECJC and plans to attend Mississippi College this fall. She was elected as vice president of the East Cen– tral Junior College Players. secretary of the Student Educa- l tion Association, and served as president of the Women's Coun– dl. While at East Central, she was selected to represent the college as student delegate to the Mississippi Education Asso– ciation Convention, the Student Education Assocation Conven– ton, and was chosen to com– pete in an oral interpretation convention held at Mississippi State University where she re– ceved superior ratings.

Forest Boy Is Summer Missionary
Terry McMillian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen McMillian of Forest, has been appointed a summer missionary by the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Beginning June 15, Terry will work in resort missions on Jey– kell Island at Brunswick, Geor– gia. He will work with tourists in a tract ministry. He will be teaching Bible School for chil– dren at the resort. He has been attending- East Central Junior College major– ing in music. At ECJC he was e'lected co-music leader forthe BSU. Terry is a member of the East Forest Baptist Church where he ha s been song leader. The church plans to send him to the nation-wide Student Conference at the Baptist Assembly in Ridgecrest, North Carolina, in August.
DONNA COWARD, daugh– ter of Mrs. Mary Coward and the )ate W. D. Coward of ForkvUle and Morton, was elected a sophomore class ' : avorite" in the recent "Who's Who" elections held at East Central Junior Col– lege at Decatur. Donna will graduate in May and is maj– oring in English. She plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi next fall. Donna is an honor roll student.
